Putting a two seat Spitfire in the air

Ever wanted to own a piece of, or fly in, a piece of living history?
Well maybe, just maybe, you will - But how, as offering flights for hire or reward is not allowed?

OK, show me how I can fly in my own Spitfire?

By buying a share in a 2-seat Tr Mk ix. Spitfire, now being built and restored - you are legally perfectly entitled to fly in your own aircraft! How much (if at all) you take control of the aircraft is agreed with the pilot on the day.

How can Spitflight Ltd. help?

SPITFLIGHT Ltd, are actively engaged in the restoration of a Spitfire Mk IX to flying status. The aircraft is being built into a two seat Spitfire trainer TR IX configuration. YOU can own a share of this fabulous Spitfire fighter. Once the work is completed, you (or anyone nominated by you), can have the chance to fly in your very own two seat Spitfire!

We do need to sell a strictly limited amount of shares to raise more money, though. SPITFLIGHT Ltd are offering a VERY FEW limited number of shares for sale in this Spitfire, they will be on a strictly first come first served basis.

INTERESTED ?

There are only maybe six or seven airworthy two seat Spitfires in the world to-day, and restoration costs are, ahem ... colossal! So if you ever dreamed of having a flight in such a historic warbird, then lets face it, the chances are pretty slim. You either need to be well ‘connected’; or to own one - but now your dream could become a reality!

Various folk allege via web sites etc, that it is not legal in the UK to sell ‘rides’ or ‘fight experiences’ unless the aircraft concerned has a C.A.A. public transport C. of A. or, EASCA. C. of A. That is basically correct; however perhaps the same people may be a little biased also, having no Spitfire to offer flight in! so can only offer other, lesser pedigree aircraft they have available, and maybe steering you their way. Spitflight Ltd. does not, and is not, offering any flight services in that way. It IS perfectly legal to fly in or pilot ANY aircraft that you own wholly or, have a share in, this is usually referred to as, a ‘syndicate’.
